GCG Managing Director Peter Frankfort, who leads the firm’s Aerospace & Defense practice, recently shared his perspective with PE Hub for the article “5 reasons private equity is betting big on US Naval investments.”

The article drew on perspectives from both PE investors and investment bankers. Peter highlighted how the projection of Naval power is critical to US interests for deterrence of aggression and protecting global trade, providing investors with long-term revenue visibility. In addition, artificial intelligence has become a critical factor to naval strategy and operations, both defensively and offensively.

“AI is central to the growing market for unmanned surface vessels and unmanned underwater vehicles,” explained Frankfort. “These systems use AI for navigation, obstacle avoidance, sensor fusion, target recognition and mission planning.”
