GCG’s Q4 2021 AdTech and Marketing Services Industry Update provides an overview of the latest trends in the sector, including recent performance, valuation multiples, and the state of the middle-market M&A environment.

Key findings include the following:

    • Led by an unprecedented expansion in digital advertising, total worldwide ad spending set a record for growth this year, with display and search ad spending indicated to expand significantly.
    • The global digital marketing software industry size was valued at $56.2 billion in 2021 and is expected to be valued at $264.1 billion in 2030 growing at a CAGR of 19.1%.
    • Pandemic conditions caused worldwide ad spending to decline by 1.2% in 2020. However, due to the economic rebound in 2021, total spending exceeded 2019’s pre-pandemic figure by more than $120.0 billion in 2021.
