GCG’s Q4 2022 AdTech and Marketing Services Industry Update provides an overview of the latest trends in the sector, including recent performance, valuation multiples, and the state of the middle-market M&A environment.
Key findings include the following:
- In Q4 2022, there were 102 announced AdTech and Marketing Services transactions, up from 100 in Q3 and down from 158 in the prior year’s Q4. As deal activity increased in the vertical, the average deal value also increased – Q4’s average value was $55 million, up from $53 million in Q3.
- Global and U.S. Ad spending is expected to increase in 2023, although not to the extent of the record growth in 2021 and 2022. However, most of the growth in 2023 will be driven by high media price inflation rather than volume growth.
- The global digital marketing software industry size was valued at $65.33 billion in 2022 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 19.4% from 2023 to 2030.
