GCG’s Q1 2022 AdTech and Marketing Services Industry Update provides an overview of the latest trends in the sector, including recent performance, valuation multiples, and the state of the middle-market M&A environment.
Key findings include the following:

- In Q1 2022, there were 202 announced AdTech and Marketing Services transactions, down from 222 in the prior year’s Q1. Despite the slight slowing in transaction volume, deal activity remains high in the vertical.
- The global digital marketing software industry size was valued at $56.5 billion in 2021 and is expected to be valued at $264.1 billion in 2030 growing at a CAGR of 19.1%.
- US advertisers spent 41.2% more on programmatic display ads in 2021, the biggest annual increase since 2016. Annual growth is expected to be 16.3% in 2022.
