Bob Coury Leads Panel Discussion on Middle-Market M&A
On September 15, Bob Coury, Senior Managing Director of Greenwich Capital Group, presented the current trends in middle-market M&A in a panel discussion entitled “Timing a Thriving Market: Investment Banking”. The event was hosted by the World Presidents’ Organization (“WPO”) Motor City Chapter. Current deal flow, valuation multiples and the outlook for middle-market M&A were among the items discussed.
- While M&A remains strong, there has been a slight decline in overall transaction volume and value over the last quarter
- Overseas buyers comprised roughly 16% of the overall buyer base; however, the global impact varies greatly across industries
- Private equity continues to strengthen its presence in the middle-market, accounting for over 39% of M&A activity over the latest twelve month period ending June 30, 2015
- Overall, transaction multiples are very similar to their pre-recessionary levels; however, they vary dramatically by industry
